Narrative description of Project:
SAFE has partnered with Heifer to introduce Gender Action Learning System in the Dairy hub development project implemented by Heifer International with an with the aim to promote gender equality and balanced livestock related decision making at household and organizational level.
Scope of the work involved the i) Delivery of technical training on Good Anima Husbandry Practices (GAHPs) on dairy cattle management, ii) Empowering women and youth and farmers to implement and fully benefit from GAHPs, iii) Improves relationships and trust between women and men involved in the project as farmers, farmer groups leaders, milk hawkers, and Milk collection center staff.
Description of actual services provided by your staff within the assignment:
The services to be provided are:
1. Harmonize/Synchronize training materials on GALS with good livestock management practices from farm to market
2. Conduct a 5-days practical training on GALs methodology to Heifer Program staff
3. Conduct a 5 day training on GALS approach and tools for Master Trainers and supervision of the cascade to 56 GALS champions and 2,831 beneficiaries of IFAD funded dairy hub development project
4. Fine-tune and provide Heifer with the materials or manual (both soft and hard) as point of reference for the training and for reproduction and distribution to participants.
5. Implement a coaching process and report for the GALS roll out to cooperative members including Participatory Gender Review and knowdge sharing among champions.
